The Walk:
Recycling and Rubbish:
Large rubbish bins are located within the large timber structures at the far corner of the outside communal area.
Recycling facilities are also available in this area. Please do your bit for the environment and recycle as much of your rubbish as possible. Separate bins are available for:
· card and paper
· glass
· tins and plastic bottles
Bike Storage:
There are 2 covered bike storage areas located in the communal garden area for your use. Please ask if you require codes to access.
T.V instructions:
Standard operation – the soundbar will sync with the TV when switched on.
Amazon Firestick:
The Firestick is activated by pressing home on the Fire Stick remote. The TV will then detect the Fire Stick is switched on & will automatically switch input to HDMI1. Netflix can be chosen from the home menu. You can select ‘Gary’ (Donna’s husband) as being the person watching the movie, as the account was originally set up in his name.
Heating:
Apartment is fitted with individually thermostatically controlled wall heaters – these can be adjusted to come on & switch off as necessary.
Other:
Manuals & detailed instructions for other appliances can be found in the file in the kitchen drawer or in the TV cabinet.

There is a Sainsbury’s Local mini supermarket located within a short walking distance – on the corner of Blossom Street / The Crescent. (Turn left when you leave the front entrance to the development, and left again at the junction of Blossom Street. The Sainsbury’s Local is located on the left hand side of the road.)
Cash point:
A cash point is available just outside the Sainsbury’s Local on Blossom Street / The Crescent.
Post box:
The nearest post box is also on Blossom Street (on the opposite side of the road to Sainsbury’s Local)
Post Office:
The nearest post office is located at 95, Micklegate.

Scarcroft Green:
There is a children’s’ play area and open space located just in front of Scarcroft Primary School (5-10 minutes walk via cut through at the end of East Mount Rd, off Blossom Street)
Rowntree Park:
This park is located a short walking distance away (approx. 15 minutes walk) in the direction of the Bishopthorpe Road area. Pleasant walks along the River Ouse (both into and out of the City) can also be found here. York’s first reading café is situated in Rowntree Park.
Museum Gardens:
A beautiful space in the centre of the City, which houses the Yorkshire Museum. Very popular with picnic-ers on sunny days.
Minster Gardens:
Another lovely green space behind the Minster. Again good for a picnic on a sunny day.

Transport:
Trains:
York is on the East Coast Main Line (2 hours from London and 2 ½ hours from Edinburgh). There are also direct services from Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham and the South West. The railway station is approximately 2 minutes walk from here, through the Lowther Street entrance.
Buses:
There is a comprehensive network of buses serving York and the surrounding villages. A map is available, which illustrates the various routes, and specific timetables can be picked up from the visitor information centre, the library or the train station.
Taxis:
There are a number of taxi companies in York. The nearest ones include York Cars on Blossom Street (01904) 765765 and Fleetways on Queen Street (01904) 365365
Cycling:
There is a network of cycle ways around the city and a map is freely available. Cycles can be hired from “Cycle Heaven” at the train station, and you are welcome to store them in the communal bike area.
Car:
A car is not really necessary during your stay in York centre, as everything is easily accessible either by foot, bicycle or bus.
Car parking:
There is an allocated car parking space dedicated to Apartment 50, The Walk. This space is marked as number 5 it can be seen from the apartment.
